Get To Know Me

Hey, I'm Maggie

Photographer, problem solver, food enthusiast, traveler, and cat parent.

I spent a lot of my childhood in Cheyenne, Wyoming, before moving to Michigan. Eventually, the Rocky Mountains called me back, and I’m very happy to be here. I love traveling and exploring new places, but I’m just as happy at home with good food, good company, and nowhere I need to be.

I’m a social introvert, which explains a lot about me. I genuinely love people and can spend hours getting lost in a great conversation, but I also really love my own company. I can happily head home afterward, close the door, put on some Adventure Time or house music, and disappear into my own little world.

I love cooking for the people I care about. To me, food is one of the ultimate community connectors. There’s something special about gathering around a table, sharing a meal, telling stories, and inevitably staying longer than anyone planned.

Before photography became my work, I was a troubleshooting technician for a renewable energy company. I’m pretty handy, love figuring things out, and genuinely enjoy helping people. I also volunteer with kids, which is something that brings a lot of meaning to my life.

I’ve been taking photographs since I was young. My parents bought me countless disposable cameras, and I was always stealing my mom’s point-and-shoot whenever I could get me hands on it. I loved documenting my life and the people around me. Those everyday moments didn’t seem important at the time, but somehow became the memories I wanted to keep.

I’m also part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I’m grateful for the people and experiences that have taught me how important it is to create spaces where people can show up as themselves.

And yes, I have a kitty. She runs the house. I just pay the bills.

At the end of the day, I’m someone who loves people, good stories, good food, and figuring things out. I’m really lucky that photography lets me bring all of those things together.
